ADOPTABLE DOGS

It is wonderful to see so much interest in Chena’s adoptable dogs.  Hopefully, with your help, we will have NO Chena dogs looking for new homes!  It makes all of us here at Chena, VERY happy to see our dogs with their new loving families!

These are the hard working retirees of the Chena Hot Springs Resort Dog Mushing Kennel.  These dogs have worked hard and happily for all of their lives.  For various reasons they are now ready to retire and to find new pet homes!  They will make great companions for the right people.  All of our adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered.  Being older, most these dogs have out grown a lot of the behavioral issues that young dogs may have, making them GREAT pets!  Most of them have never set paw inside a house, however, and will need some training on how to behave in your home.  At one point in their lives they needed LOTS AND LOTS of exercise… but now they have out grown that too.  These dogs would love to join you on walks, hikes, runs, and on the occasional trip to the dog park, but most of all they’ll be happy just hanging out with you as your pet!  If you are interested in meeting one of these amazing dogs please stop by the kennel between the hours of 9am-5pm any day of the week.  The kennel is located on Chena Hot Springs property.  When approaching Chena, make a hard right, immediately before the “Welcome to Chena” archway sign.  We look forward to meeting you!

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of these amazing dogs please email Laura at chenakenneliyahoo.com.  The dogs and I look forward to meeting you!  Please, NO PHONE CALLS TO THE RESORT!

Nori – born in 1999.   Nori is a very sweet, very loving dog.  He enjoys any and all attention given to him.  Nori would run every tour if we let him, but he is getting up there in years and simply cannot handle the work load here anymore.  Nori would love to join you on all of your outdoor adventures!!

Circle & Eagle - born in 2000.  They are sisters, and I’d LOVE to see these two girls get placed in a home together, but if they have to be separated to find homes, than that is fine too.  They have run the Yukon Quest and  Iditarod races in 05, 06, and 07  together and deserve a very nice retirement. These two are OVER the whole working thing, which is why they are retiring and looking for homes.  Their original owner has done a great job of house breaking these two girls also!  They will enjoy the occasional walk, but most of all, they will love their new job of couch dwelling and feet-warming.

Mozart- born in 2004.  This boy has been a loyal tour dog his whole life, and is starting to get bored of it, and would love a new job, as your pet.

George- born in 2003.  He is a friendly guy full of personality good looks and charm.  George has completed the 07 and 08 Iditarods.  He has developed a non removable tumor in the bone of his hind leg, and can no longer do the tours here.  George is used to being inside, and is well housebroke.  He is looking for the right person to give him the retirement he deserves!

Chewy- born in 2003.  Chewy is a very friendly dog.  He loves anyone he meets and especially loves to be pet.  In fact, when you stop petting him, he gently puts his paw on you, asking for more pets.  He will make a great companion for someone who can give him lots of love and attention.  Being a younger guy, Chewy will need a higher level of exercise than most of our older dogs.
