The Driving Force Behind Chena's Vision

Chena Hot Springs Resort was first purchased from the State of Alaska in 1998. The natural outdoor hot springs was modified and expanded that summer to offer adults (ages 18+) a place to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Since 1998, the successful addition of the geothermal power plant, the on-site manufacturing department, and the three all-year-round greenhouses have helped Chena Hot Springs become more environmentally friendly and more sustainable for all to enjoy.

In 2016, ownership of the resort was transferred to its passionate and hard working employees by way of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). As employees, we were incredibly grateful for this transfer in ownership! This resort is something we take pride in. We put our best work into it, and we also make it our home.

We would love for you to come by to visit! Have a taste of what life is like in a remote location in the Alaskan wilderness. Unplug for a while. Open your eyes to the life around you. We hope you can fall in love with it as much as we have.
