There is no better way to view the beauty of Chena's peaceful and scenic trails than on horseback. Our well-trained and quiet-natured horses will delight everyone, from the first-time rider to the well-seasoned horseman.
Choose between a 30-minute or 1-hour time slot — both offer a memorable ride through Alaska's stunning wilderness landscape.
Ride through Chena's scenic trails on well-trained, quiet-natured horses. Perfect for all experience levels.
Meet at the Activities Center at Chena Hot Springs Resort. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled ride to check in and get acquainted with your horse.
Not at all. Our well-trained and quiet-natured horses are perfectly suited for first-time riders, and our guides will walk you through everything before you set off. Experienced riders are equally welcome and will enjoy the beautiful trail scenery.
Riders must be at least 4.5 feet tall to participate. Closed-toe shoes are required for all riders — sandals, flip-flops, and open-toed footwear are not permitted for safety reasons.
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate layers for the outdoors. Long pants are recommended for comfort in the saddle. Avoid loose scarves or dangling accessories that could startle the horses.
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled ride receive a full refund or credit. Full refunds are also issued if the operator cancels due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. No-shows and arrivals more than 1 minute late may be charged the full tour price. To cancel, please contact us by phone.
The 30-minute ride is a great introduction — ideal for younger guests or those who want a taste of the trail without a longer commitment. The 1-hour ride allows more time to relax into the saddle and take in the full beauty of Chena's wilderness trails at a leisurely pace.
