Do I need to make a reservation for dinner?
No reservations are taken. Seating is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the dress code for dining?
The atmosphere is “Alaska Casual.” Guests are welcome in the cozy lodge setting in comfortable travel gear, flannels, or warm layers. No swimwear is allowed.
Where is the restaurant located within the resort?
The restaurant is located inside the main building, conveniently situated near the front desk and gift shop.
Why does the drinking water have a distinct smell?
Because our resort is located on a natural geothermal source, the water contains minerals like sulfur. While it is perfectly safe to drink, we use filtration for all restaurant coffee, tea, and soda to ensure a great taste.
Can I get food to go?
Yes, food from the restaurant cane be ordered to go.
Are there vegan or gluten-free options?
Yes, we have several dishes that can be prepared vegan or gluten-free upon request. Please notify your server of any food allergies or specific dietary needs so we can best accommodate you. Note that our food is prepared in a facility that also handles dairy and gluten products.
The Aurora Cafe
The Aurora Cafe, located in the Activities Center, is the perfect spot to enjoy specialty coffee, snacks, or ice cream while waiting for the Northern Lights. We serve hot soup, sandwiches, and “Chena Fresh” salads daily. It is a great place to chat with friends and fellow travelers in a warm, communal setting.
