Chena Hot Springs sits deep in the Alaskan interior, surrounded by forested hills that most guests never get above. This tour takes you up one of them. Charlie Dome overlooks the entire valley, with unobstructed views of the Chena Hills and the Alaska Range visible on clear days.
The ride up takes about 45 minutes in a side-by-side ATV. Open to ages 5 and up, with room for up to 4 guests per vehicle.

The Charlie Dome Trail
The trail winds through boreal spruce forest before breaking above the treeline near the summit. At the top, the terrain opens completely. The Chena Hills roll out in every direction, and on a clear day you can pick out the Alaska Range along the southern horizon.
There is a stop at the summit to get out and walk around before the ride back down. The whole tour runs about 45 minutes from the Activity Center and back.
The Side x Side Vehicle
The side-by-side ATV seats guests alongside the guide, with room for up to 4 guests per vehicle. It is a practical format for families and groups, and it keeps everyone together for the whole ride rather than spread across separate machines.
